My name is Bob and I am a 9 year old black cat. My picture doesn’t do me justice as I am a rather handsome chap.
Unfortunately one of my owners has become severely allergic to me and cannot look after me much longer, so I am looking for a new home. I can be shy when meeting new people and sometimes get scared when there are lots of people around that I do not know but once I get to know you I am friendly and affectionate. Like most cats, I can be sociable and then change my mind and be unsociable and like to be on my own. I do like attention but on my terms. I’m not one for sitting on a lap but I will come to you for stroking and head scratching and I do like you to come to me. I don’t really like being picked up though and will jump down straight away. I am prone to shedding fur but love to be brushed. I also like being stroked and occasionally having my tummy rubbed and in return you will be rewarded with my contented purr.
I don’t really play with toys but do like to chase a bit of string around the house but will get bored after a while and will go and lie down. I like to go outside on the prowl, mainly at night, although I do like to lie in the sun during the day or be outside when it is warmer and I have been known to leave unexpected "presents" every once in a while for my owners.
I am very curious and like to investigate and like to sit and watch the world go by. I would prefer a home where I am the only pet as other animals scare me. Also, I’ve never really been in contact with small children. I am probably slightly overweight but in good health and I am neutered and vaccinated. I am very easy to look after and don’t eat that much, although sometimes I can be a bit greedy. I am still living with my owner and will be re-homed straight from there and I am looking to find a new home as soon as possible. Bye for now, Bob.
