Hello there - I am
Conan, a special boy looking for a special home with an
experienced cat owner who can help me to learn that people are
not scary monsters! I was trapped from a stray cat colony but
whilst being neutered at the vets it was felt that I wasn't as
wild as expected and so could hopefully tame down into being a
family pet. I have been in care for a little while now and I
will now let my foster mum clap my head and tickle my ears and
chin with only a little hiss or two. I like to stay in my bed
and watch what she is doing - especially when she is there to
drop off my dinner!! I am a large ginger boy with a big cuddly
head - I like to think of myself as a bagpuss in the making! I
am looking for someone who will have the patience and
understanding to let me come out of my shell at my own pace and
who won't be put off by the odd growl or two - I don't mean it
really, I am just a bit scared. I would be looking for a new
home where I would be able to wander outside in a safe place as
I am from a rural area. Also, I might be able to live with
another cat. I think that a house without children at all or
perhaps with understanding older children (teens) would be best
as everything is a bit new to me and too much noise or bustle
would stress me out. I have tested negative for FELV and FIV and
I have been vaccinated and microchipped. If you think that you
might be that special person for me then please get in touch.
Fosterer's note:
Conan is a lovely big boy but he has a way to go before he
trusts people enough to come out of his shell. He is curious and
he can be touched but does not tolerate being picked up. I am
confident though that with time and love he will transform into
a lovely big lad. However he will definitely need to go to
someone that will understand that he may need a long time to
come round and that he may never be a lap cat. Someone with
patience and love who will let him develop at his own pace. As
he is a stray/feral cat I feel that he would be best placed with
an experienced owner who would not be phased by a little
bluster.
