CONAN

Conan was originally trapped from a stray cat colony and hadn’t been used to being handled. He was scared of people and was frozen with fear when anyone approached him. However after a number of months of socialisation he is now developing into quite the “cuddle-bum”. It takes him some time to trust, but when he does he uses a wonderful little chirrup to get your attention and he enjoys being fussed over. He likes to roll about with his feet in the air and have his head rubbed. Conan loves other cats and he is looking for a home where he can have a furry companion or two to help him increase his confidence and provide him with company. He would eventually like to have a safe garden to go out and explore. He is a young healthy cat of approx 2 years old and is microchipped and vaccinated.  Conan is looking for a home with understanding owners who will appreciate that he will need a lot of love and patience to continue to help him grow in confidence. He is a lap cat but it may take him some time to become so in a new home. When feeling brave, Conan is all over you with cuddles and wanting affection but when feeling insecure he will run away and retreat under the table, although some fresh ham or chicken can normally tempt him out. As such, he is probably best suited to a home without young children (e.g. less than 10 years old) as this would most likely prove too daunting for him. He needs someone who will understand that he may take some months to become comfortable in a new home and that he may remain a little skittish. It will probably be about 6 months before he is secure enough to be allowed out of the house as if he became spooked while outside he may run away. Although it is a little more challenging developing a relationship with Conan, seeing his trust in you grow is incredibly rewarding and behind the “scaredy cat” front there is an absolutely wonderful cat who will be a pleasure to share a life with. Anyone who adopts Conan will be very lucky indeed!
