PEPE

Please meet Pepe who is 14 years old and his owners have had him from a kitten, aged 8 weeks. He is a black shorthaired with a fluffy belly, he has been neutered and has had some vaccinations in the past. The reason Pepe needs a new home is very sad. His owner's husband has had a heart transplant and also has renal failure. He was told "no cats" but, unfortunately, his breathing has become worse of late. Pepe is an indoor cat but would probably love the outdoors if introduced properly as he escaped for 4 days many years ago. He came back unhurt thankfully but was starving of course. Pepe was diagnosed as diabetic around 4 years ago but this is successfully treated with a proper diet for the condition. His owner gives him Hills Prescription MD biscuits, which you can buy from the PDSA vet, although his owner buys it online and finds it cheaper that way. It actually only costs around £10 a month for this food which is cheaper than food in the shops. Pepe isn't good with other cats or small children but he loves to be petted and likes to lick your fingers at the same time - very cute and funny - and he also loves being groomed. Pepe isn't a lap cat as such but will rest his front legs over you while being petted but he does not like being picked up. He doesn't mind being left for long periods of time, although his owner has a petsitter and neighbour who looks after him while they are on holiday. He can be naughty ocassionally and can get into the kitchen by turning the handle and goes looking for food, hence his owner having to put a lock on the door! He isn't allowed human food but has been given him the odd prawn cracker and fish from their supper although you have to be strict and not give in to him - it is for the best after all. Please contact us soon if you think you can offer Pepe a loving home.
